There is no direct equivalent in English; it includes various parts of speech like nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and and even some prepositions.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the primary\u00a0characteristics of this class of words include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Being both the subject of a sentence (\u0645\u0633\u0646\u062f \u0627\u0644\u064a\u0647, &#8220;that which has something assigned to it&#8221;) and the predicate (\u0645\u0633\u0646\u062f, &#8220;that which is assigned&#8221;);<\/li>\n<li>Accepting the definite article \u0627\u0644;<\/li>\n<li>Capable of being singular, dual, or plural;<\/li>\n<li>Capable of being masculine or feminine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There are various categories of\u00a0<em>isms<\/em>, depending on what aspect of the <em>ism<\/em> is intended. In Morphology, the primary category is in terms of:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u0627\u0633\u0645 \u0645\u062c\u0631\u062f (base form) or \u0645\u0632\u064a\u062f \u0641\u064a\u0647 (increased form);<\/li>\n<li>in terms of the base form, an <em>ism\u00a0<\/em>can either be three-lettered (\u0631\u062c\u0644 &#8220;man&#8221;), four-lettered (\u062c\u0639\u0641\u0631 &#8220;a small rivulet or brook&#8221;) , or five-lettered (\u0633\u0641\u0631\u062c\u0644 &#8220;quince&#8221;).
